Hello my name is Raul Esparza. I am very interested in mechanics and mechanical engineering that is why I am on this engineering program. My goal in life is to be a mechanic or a mechanical engineer. I like working in all of this engineering projects since we get to work with our hands and in the computer. CNC initials
 

The goal of this project was to design our initials and making them in the cnc mill. We had to find the coordinates from our design and make a program that would make the mill carve in and it would make the initials. We had to learn to use the mill and how to make the program. We also had to learn different g and m codes that the cnc machine uses. We did 2 types of initials one with straight lines and the other one we had to use arcs to make them. 

 
 Robot arm
 

The goal of this project was to make programs that would make the robot arm do specific things. for each activity we did we made a program that made it do something for example we made the robot arm pick up blocks and set them at top of each other. We also had to make the programs efficient so we use things like subroutines, variables, and loops. Subroutines are use for bits of codes that are use over and over again. So if u makes it go one place many times you can make a subroutine to make the program shorter. I learned using the subroutine when I started this project. The most important thing I learned to use was the cell set up. If I dint learned this I wouldn’t be able to do any of the activities.

FACTORY SYSTEM

The project of this goal was to use all the concepts we learned in one whole project. We used all of the programs we learned how to use and all of them were connected so we could complete this project. The goal was also to get the robot arm working with the cnc mill so that they could manufacture a key chain without our help. In this project we did not learn any new concepts we used the ones we have already learned. Some of the concepts we used were knowing the g and m codes, knowing how to use inventor, knowing how to use edge cam, knowing how to make a program for the robot arm and making a program for the cnc mill.

CNC Jewelry box
The goal of this project was to be able to manufacture a jewelry box using the cnc mill. I had to make a sketch of what i wanted it to look like and make a 3d model using autodesk inventor. After i made the correct dimensions and had the right constraints i transfer the model to edge cam. In edge cam i rough out the pockets. Next i generated the G and M codes and tranfer them to cnc base. In cnc base i deleted the codes that i did not need. This proceess i did for the bottom part of the jewelry box. For the top of the jewelry box i did the same process except for one thing. Instead of roughing i used profiling in edge cam. The basic concepts i used during this project was knowing how to use the sofwares cnc base, autodesk inventor, and edge cam. Another concept was to know the G and M codes. if i did not know them i would not have been able to complete this project.
